Special exhibition
Exhibition RESTLICHT I Sculpture and graphics by Werner Mally
With the temporary sculpture RESTLICHT by sculptor Werner Mally, the Stiftung Christliche Kunst Wittenberg is bringing an impressive form of remembrance to the market square in Lutherstadt. The work invites people to pause, meet and talk - a place of remembrance of the years 1938 to 1945.
The pierced steel plate of the pavilion lets light fall through numbers and signs - like luminous traces of history. In its form and symbolism, the sculpture refers to Jewish culture and opens up a space for remembrance, freedom and responsibility.
To accompany the sculpture, the foundation is showing an extensive exhibition of Werner Mally's works on paper, sculptures and models in Wittenberg Castle.
A limited edition of prints (signed, edition of 50) is available on site - framed for €270, unframed for €255.
Accompanying events in co-operation with Wittenberg partners complete the project.
Exhibition period: 21 June - 31 August 2025
