The Fläming

The Fläming region stretches from southern Berlin to Magdeburg. Just outside the gates of Lutherstadt Wittenberg you will find one of the three nature parks located here: the Fläming/Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park with a varied landscape and plenty of stone witnesses to a varied history. Enjoy the diversity of nature on a hike or a bike tour. On a total of 82,000 hectares, forests, meadows and farmland alternate, near-natural streams run along the way. On the farms of the almost enchanted villages of the region, the farmers offer their own products for sale in their farm stores.

Special places

Away from the big cities and the larger towns, there are also small pearls that are worth visiting. These "special places" are perfect starting points for an exploration on foot or by bike, as there are some worthwhile excursion destinations in the immediate vicinity. Not far from Lutherstadt Wittenberg, for example, there is the Külsoer Mühle, which is now the information point of the Fläming Nature Park, or the small but beautiful village of Möllensdorf, which can also be reached via a short hike on the circular route "Between the Elbe and the Fläming".

Flora & Fauna

The Fläming Nature Park is home to numerous native and partly endangered species of game, birds and insects, which you can marvel at during a visit if you are lucky. Between the glacial valley of the Elbe and the High Fläming, you can watch red deer, fallow deer and wild boar grazing or enjoy the diverse flora and the natural deciduous and pine forests.  In spring, among other things, the blooming rape fields and lush meadows attract you out into nature, in summer you will find beautiful shady places in the forests.  Autumn enchants the nature park into a real sea of colors.

Fläming Skate

Cyclists, inline skaters and also people with limited mobility should also take note of the Fläming Skate. A track network of about 230 km crosses the entire landscape of the Fläming and is thus the longest traffic-calmed skating track in Europe. Eight circuits of various lengths stretch through the Fläming and offer you the opportunity to discover the diversity of nature undisturbed.
