Above all, Martin Luther's loyal companions were a significant part of the success of the Reformation in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.
Katharina von Bora, Luther's wife, gave her husband Martin three sons and three daughters. The well-known painter Lucas Cranach was a true media mogul of the Middle Ages. Philipp Melanchthon, "Germany's Teacher", was one of the most significant of the reformers who worked in Wittenberg.
