St. Andreaskirche in Eisleben

With its two towers, the St. Andreas Church forms the center of the historical Old Town of Eisleben. It was first mentioned in 1180 but it was given its present form only at the end of the 15th century. In 1531, St. Andreas Church had 14 altars among them a Corpus Christi altar, a St. Peter's altar and an altar of Our Lady.
Martin Luther gave his last four sermons in February 1546 from the pulpit constructed in 1509 before dying on 18 February. On 19 February 1546, Martin Luther's body was laid out in the late Gothic Hallen church, and from there it was taken to Wittenberg on the instructions of the Saxon Elector.
